Dynamic Web Design Books

Hello!
I am experienced in GoLive and am well underway to being at home with Macromedia Studio8 (awesome package, especially Flash - still struggling wiht that). However, I am completely ignorant on dynamic web design and would welcome anybody's opinions on what books to buy that will take me through the whole process, preferably with worked examples. I have tried Amazon and have been put off by the mixed reviews that people have written. Further, they (in the UK at least) have only the MX books.
I need to know how to do ------ everything! Dynamically.

I don't know if this counts as design, but this is an excellent book:

I'm still looking for a good book for MVC stuff.
