Hello All,
I used Apple's Migration Assistant for the first time and it copied all my applications over from my Powerbook. Well I was getting odd errors (2 Safari icons in the dock at once) because it copied my PowerPC version of Safari over as well. I quickly deleted one of the Safari apps in my Applications folder without realizing that one was Universal and the other PowerPC. Well I deleted the wrong one and I'm away on business without my backup disks.
Can someone please email me a copy of the Universal Safari application only?

Thanks everyone!

Use Pacifist (http://www.charlessoft.com/) to extract Safari from your restore DVD.

My problem is with the Universal binary versions of applications. I have Firefox and I use it all the time, especially since salesforce.com mailing doesnt work with Safari, BUT Firefox is not UB and the Safari UB is much better and faster than Firefox PowerPC for my uses.

hmmm. i don't think anyone can email you a copy of Preview - it breaches the EULA. Email / call Apple and see what they can do for you.
ps - why were you deleting Preview anyway ???

There is a UB beta of Firefox called Deerpark that you can search for. I downloaded it the other day. Looks and works the exact same. I still think Safari is faster though.

Here are the facts surrounding my circumstance.
1. I used Apple's Migration Assistant. This copies your files, settings, dock AND APPLICATIONS from a previous Apple computer. I stored my PowerPC (on my Powerbook) version of Safari in a folder called Brower so it copied that application over.
2. When I opened safari, there was 2 safari icons in my dock. I quickly went into my application folder and deleted the safari app because I knew I kept my copy in the folder Brower.
3. I forgot the binary difference of Safari PowerPC and Safari Intel.
4. I AM OUT OF TOWN. I can get to my backup desks but not for the next few weeks.
5. I own a Macbook Pro and therefore am entitiled to use Preview. I don't believe that I would be violating any type of license.
6. I made a mistake and I'm asking the macrumors community to help me.
7. We are talking Preview, the free app that only works on a Mac; we are not talking about FCP or Photoshop.

Thanks!! Issues have been solved. I'll keep the name secret so those powers that be will not be mad that we violated the EULA
