Detailed wifi info on airport?

I just bought a macbook pro (my first since '90! 😱 ). I would like to know if there is way to get more detail on wifi information from airport. All I see is the wifi name and none of the vital stuff like wep, wpa...etc.

Is there a "switch" I can turn on so I can all this by default?
