Is there a program like DVD shrink for Windows that will let me back up the DVD's I own onto regular DVD-R's?

Keep in mind, I am not pirating DVD's, just making copies of the ones I have for when I am on the road.

Several...

Popcorn
Toast
DVD2One
DVD Remaster
FastDVDCopy

I suggest you search VersionTracker for these and pick the one you like.

There's no FREE option like DVDShrink.

MactheRipper and Handbrake are other useful (free) apps which you might want to look at when it comes to ripping DVDs.

mac the ripper

then use

Toast 7

that is the best way, but there are other methods.

i did make a dvd with some divx source using toast 7 the other day and had really good results. I guess for when im backing up my own dvds and i want them to fit on a DVD 5 (as opposed to a dvd 9) i guess i just put a tick in the auto-resize box and it adjusts the bitrate and re-encodes for me?
