View Full Version : What's the cheapest I could expect to get a 15" Powerbook G4?

I used to have a 1.5GHz G4. I really miss the thing, and was thinking about looking around to pick one up again. Now that the MBP's are out, am I right to assume G4 values have taken a nosedive?

I would be open to all specs, but it MUST be in perfect shape, I'm kind of a perfectionist.

Ideas?

Well if you want absolute perfection, I'm assuming it must be brand spanking new? The cheapest I've seen so far is $1200. Though I haven't seen any others go for that low.

Not necessarily brand new, but at least the appearance of such.

I just know how I take care of my things, and would like to buy from someone who does the same.

Thats my old model, I miss her :(

Definately a solid performer. Nothing like the new MacBooks, but solid.

Just out of curiosity, if you were going to sell, what would you ballpark it at?

I think he means no where as fast as the new MBP's but they are good machines and get the job done right.

Maybe I got it completely wrong, but that's what I think he meant, at least. :O

From the prices I've seen on ebay and other places, the prices may have dropped some, but not very much. People still know these are good laptops to have. If you're wanting one of the recent ones, I think you're still looking at over 13-14 hundred. If you're willing to take one of the slightly older ones like the 1.25 GHz models or so, you could probably get one for around $1000, I would imagine.

Hmm, $1000 might be doable.

Around $1000 is a good estimate.
I have a perfect:) 1.25GHz machine on Ebay right now, and it seems it will go for about $900, give or take.

i have a really nice BTO (sig.) that i will NOT be selling. sorry dude, i love it too much.:D

i dont think i will part with it until it becomes absolutely necessary to upgrade, i.e. a failure in a critical component or software becomes too incompatible.

Wow, you are including a Brenthaven bag. Very nice and indeed adds value to the auction.

Glad you noticed... That is indeed a terrific bag, probably the best ever made for the 15' PB.
