Favorite UT2004 Weapon

I've just dled/watched some demos of pros dueling each other in DM and noticed that they mostly use lightning/shock combination. Though they also use rocket, flak, mini and Link, but still most of the time they run with light/shock.

What are your favorite weapons in this great game?

Mine are (in the decreasing order):

1)Shock Rifle
2)Minigun
3)Lightning Gun

That's my "top 3" list. What about you?

Shock Rifle is by far the most powerful weapon in this game. LG/SG is second.

My personal fav is the hellbender weapon combination of twin beams and skymine combos :)

As you can tell...not a fan of ONS. Love my deathmatch more than anything, especially Instagib DM/TDM. I'd play Reg DM/TDM more if it weren't for so many whiners complaining about weapon usage.
My opinion: Shut up and play the stupid game and don't bitch how others use their weapons.

i'm more of a sneaky quick-reaction kind of guy, so this the list for me.

if including super weapons, instagib shock, then redeemer

1. flak cannon. (always get title: flak monkey.)
2. minigun (versatile weapon. well balanced for far and near)
3. rocket launcher (good gun for mid-range combat)
4. shock rifle. (very good gun. i'm just not accurate enough to utilize it)

I see a lot of people love rocket launcher. I personally hate it. Maybe becuase I dont play online with noobs on public players :D

As I play with Masterful-Godlike bots its impossible to hit them with rocket L. They dodge ALL the rockets. On masterful, maybe you can, but on Godlike - no way to hit them. Thats why I like instant-hit weapons, like shock.

I agree that Shock Rifle is one or even the most powerful of the UT04's arsenal.

BTW guys, do you prefer Sniper Rifle or Lightning Gun? I like LG more, it just feels more powerful and easy to operate (it does 70 DMG over 60 SniperR does, but at slightly lower rate of fire) I am more accurate with LG, but what about you?

The rocket launcher, though the link gun is handy and the sniper rifle is even better in the games where it's available. Two assault rifles can be a challenge.

I know its lame, but I love killing people with the Bio-Rifle. Something about killing people with balls of ooze just makes me laugh.

With Shield Gun you can unleash pretty morefull melee attacks and, more importantly, it it as a shield, if you are low on health or ammo. With some skill you can jump to the areas, where you cannot get with normal jumps.

Bio Rifle is the most contradictory weapon in the Tournament. Yes, it looks lame and useless, but in reality a VERY powerful weapon. The slime it fires does A LOT of damage (especially when fully loaded with secondary fire). But you must be very accurate to actually hit ppl with it. The useful tactic is also while you retreat you can shoot this slime on the floor, so the one who persues you gets hit/killed/stops persution

Another Flak Monkey here. Since I have a hard time aiming quickly, I appreciate the shotgun effect of the flak cannon. I like the shock rifle but it is too hard for me to aim. The mini gun would be my next choice.

I agree that minigun is good/best for those whose aim is not perfect (like myself). But I use lightning/shock most of the time now to improve my aim and becasue these weapons are really awesome!

I'd consider stuffing the ballot box. I wanted to vote for the sniper rifle as well as the rocket launcher. :D

It really depends on the map for me. On Bridges of Fate, the shock rifle is great. Also on large open maps where instant hit is even more important. On close combat, however, I love me some flak cannon.

I love using the shock rifle. The lightning gun is also a fav, but people I play against make a fuss when I use it... 90% of the time I'm only using it close range too. You'd think they had the advantage. :rolleyes:

Yeah, I've come to appreciate the BioRifle. I'll charge someone with the secondary fully charged, release the slime and watch them die. :D

By far, my favorite weapon is the rocket launcher, but I'm also a big fan of the Flak Cannon.

I didnt include Super Weapons, because I didnt want ppl to vote Redeemer/otherSW. Yes, they are cool, but most of the time you'll be using normal weapons.

Guess I don't really see it as a superweapon. More like a built in gamemode or something to me since it is a stock weapon. Doesn't matter, still a ShockRifle at heart, so my vote will stick with that.
