My 12" PB arrived today and I was all set up to transfer files from my iMac (graphite, running 10.1) in Target Disk mode as informed to do by your good selves in this forum however it will not work, the firewire logo does not appear and the iMac boot as normal. Am I doing it right, plugging the 2 together then restarting the iMac whilst holding T, or am I missing something? Also, will this work with the iMac running 10.1? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not entirely sure, but the iMac might not support target disk mode ...

Not to worry, though, simply run target disk mode on the PowerBook. The HD will show up on the iMac, and you can transfer the files that way.

You could xfer your home directory through a cat-5 as well. It'll take a bit longer, but no rebooting or "T" necessary. Just another idea.

I was thinking "Clone the F***er" when I first read the thread, but no, I don't think that would be a good idea.

:D
