there is no way to view video through front row it if is not in itunes?

and itunes only can show video that is at ipod's resolution?

Front row can play anything Quicktime can play. Just put the files or an alias of them in your movies folder. They will be full res.

quicktime can't play avi files though, right?


a codec is needed?

iTunes will play any video format it can - doesn't have to be iPod sized. iTunes handles my full resolution copies of TV shows I've ripped and tagged into the TV Shows section.

Sometimes. Just download Divx codec for mac and also flip4mac, and you'll be able to play about 95% of videos out there.
