Superdrive is failing in my 3 year old 1 GHZ Tibook: Time to Replace, Any thoughts:
Found these options:
OWC:superdrive (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MPBG4SD8XDL/) for $134.99
MCE:superdrive (http://store.mcetech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PBG4DVDR8DL-A&Category_Code=STORLTDVDRW&Product_Count=0) for $129.99

The MCE Drive can burn DVD+-R DL faster (4x)
OWC Drive is slower (2.4x DL & only DVD+R DL)

I have more experience & trust with Macsales.com (OWC)

Ive never heard of these guys:
Anyone have any experience with MCE technologies (http://www.mcetech.com/)???

You can also buy an external DVD burner (16x dvd+/-r, 8x dvd+rw and 6x dvd-rw, 8x dvd+r dual layer) for half that.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152058 (the dvd burner for $40) and the (compatible) external enclosure of your choice.

The External Drive is def. an option... much better price... but i already carry around an external HD and a 6x8 Tablet in my Bag, i didnt want to add any additional weight.
My back hurts to much as it is.
