I played it on my friends PC and it was great! I know my powermac is beefy enough to handle it, but I haven't seen it for mac. Am I just looking the wrong places, or is it not out for mac?

Highly doubt its out or my powermac could handle it? I think that dual 2ghz G5s can handle it.

i have it for my PC and it is a GREAT game, but i don't think you'll see it out for the mac anytime soon because i believe it runs on the havoc engine and no one wants to try and port that to mac

If you have some cash around you can build a decent gaming pc for REALLLLY cheap.

For a DECENT PC I would say you can scrape it together for like $300, less if you have some parts already, it wont be the best but it will run most games decently.

how much do you think you can build one for?
1.8 athlon 64 - $120ish
motherboard - $80ish
hard drive - $40
7800GT at a minimum - $250
memory - atleast a GB - $70
DVD drive - $20-$40
Case - $40
Power Supply - $40
That's the bare minimum it would cost to build a PC for FEAR if you want full effects on.

Yeah thats with full effects, everything seems accurate but maybe the 7800GT is over kill for a budget gaming PC

However, it costs so much that the game has to be a real blockbuster to make it worth it

As far as the Havok engine is concerned, the engine is already ported. However, its developers charge it at an inexplicably high price, so, we haven't seen it in any games on the mac yet.
As for FEAR on the mac... It hasn't been released for the macintosh platform yet. And it won't. Truth hurts, but that doesn't stop it from being the truth.

Second Life, and...well, that's it actually. Plus it's an earlier version of Havok.

That game runs like utter CRAP on 90% of macs out there and also the graphics arent too good. Hope the new version of havok can beat the one in second life.

The bad performance doesn't come from the physics engine.

Runs fine on my powermac, even with DSL. My powerbook isn't so good with it, but when I get on campus with the highspeed wireless its not too bad.
