Snapz pro...made by ambrosia, you can select what part of the screen to record, it supports mics too, i use for training movies at work, superb software & cheap (approx $69) but you do need a fairly competant machine to run it...i use it on a 1Ghz eMac and it works fine, but i would not go any lower than thatNightLord said:

I've done this before... if you have the right equipment its a good alternative...
S-Video out port -> DV Camcorder in VCR mode. Extend desktop onto the camcorder and press record. Do whatever you're wanting to do... Then import the video into iMovie or Final Cut. I've used that to record a few things I've needed.
