I tried to make an iPhoto book today (Large, Hardcover, Double Sided), and the webpage on Apple (http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/features/books.html) insists that the minimum number of page is 10.

When I made my book, with 18 pages, iPhoto told me that I had to have a minimum of 20, so it added a couple of blank pages.

Can someone please explain this?

Minimum number of pages is 10. But a page has two sides that must be filled so that is 20 sides.

Yeah, but the medium books are the same way, but they are listed as 20 pages instead of 10.

Why do they count them differently? Any ideas?

Different books, different pages, different preparation, who knows.

Because you can still have a large single-sided photo book which would indeed be 10 pages.
