I need a price check on my PowerBook. I bought it new in April 2005. Here are the specs:

17-inch (diagonal), 1440 x 990 resolution, TFT widescreen
1.67GHz PowerPC G4 processor
2GB PC-2700 DDR SDRAM (running at 333MHz)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128MB of DDR SDRAM and dual-link DVI
100GB Ultra ATA/100; 5400 rpm
8x SuperDrive (DVD±RW/CD-RW)
DVI, VGA, S-video and composite
Combined analog and optical digital line-in, combined analog and optical digital line-out, stereo speakers, microphone
Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T (Gigabit)
Built-in 54-Mbps AirPort Extreme (Wi-Fi 802.11g); built-in Bluetooth 2.0+EDR
Built-in 56K V.92 modem
Full size, illuminated with ambient light sensor
One FireWire 400, one FireWire 800, two USB 2.0 ports, and Type I/II PC Card slot
6.9 pounds
15.4 x 10.2 inches
1 inch
Up to 4.5 hours
Scrolling Trackpad;
Sudden Motion Sensor

It's in perfect condition. There is one stuck pixel, as shown in the mock-up below. I've been unable to remove it.

The RAM is "genuine" Apple, and covered by warranty.

AppleCare Protection Plan until April 2008.

Given the prices below, I think it's worth about $2400, although that's probably not what I'll get.

Thanks! :)

Just one reply, please?

I know there are a lot of pro users who need a top-of-the-line PowerPC until the new binaries are out...

Not to mention, you can still BTO these PowerBooks from Apple, so I doubt that a 17" MacBook Pro is imminent.

Well, that's not true... I priced it out... you can't get the Rev. E 17" for less than $3150 with those options (memory from Crucial).

My model should get at least $2200, since it has 4 times the memory of the refurbished Rev. D.

Thanks for the reply. :)

EDIT: I just noticed the links you posted. That AppleCare price only applies if you buy with an iBook (weird), and you saved $100 on the memory. A few of those retailers look shady, especially since they're not Apple Certified. Nearly all of the reputable sellers are closer to $2400. There's also tax!

Yeah, I think $2200 is pretty reasonable.
In a way, I wish I would have waited for
a 17" macbook pro, but I doubt I'd have
been able to afford a new one anyway.

For all we know it's back to the days of TiBook, only 15" models!

I sure hope not. :)

Hi

All that "special" note is to remind customers that they offer bundles with APP and that is even cheaper than this price. The $270 does not have any stipulations. I've ordered from ExperCom a few times and they are great.

and you saved $100 on the memory.
Ask anyone...Apple BTO memory is a bit steep but so is Dell's, ... Of course, they can charge that.

A few, yes. However, Abe's of Maine has a lot of reviews and a 4 out of 5.

There's also tax!
Not with many online retailers.

It's just FYI. I'm finished here and really do wish you good luck.

P.S. I understand. I lost ~$400 in ~4 months on my iMac. :( ...That doesn't change the facts though.
