I have today received an email from a UK mac supplier offering OS 10.2 for £81.00. This seems a greatly reduced price, maybe to clear stock for 10.3?

10.3 won't be out until later on, possibly July at Macworld but you've probably just had a special offer sent to you.

I don't think we will hear much about OSX 10.3 before Macworld in July. Any official release not before September I guess. Anyway, someone better move this to Software Discussion

How is that a reduced price? Isn't that about $120 US dollars? That's the full intro price. Though yes I can find it for around $70-80 US Dollars here in the states.

Expect 10.3 this fall.

£99.00 ( about $152) is the best I have seen through the shops so far. We do tend to get ripped off in the UK though. Have you seen what we pay for petrol? :(

Like others, I've seen 10.2 advertised for less than $100 here in the States. I think 10.3 should be out this fall, though, with demos at WWDC and MWNY.

I just hope it has another speed boost like 10.2 did.

I believe what he was saying was that they should have demos at WWDC or MWNY.

im probably gonna guess pay. we are almost up to the price of a full copy of windows xp pro. it sucks that apple must charge for things that microsoft would release in a simple service pack. but anyways, microsoft has unlimited funds so then afford to release stuff like that. but on apple's side like i always say i will always pay for a premium product, although i dont buy any apple software but if i had to i would glady shell out the cash. bring on 10.3, pay or free, either way will do(not for many people though).

90 cents Austrailian is about 53 cents US.
75 pence UK is aboput $1.24 US

So a gallon of petrol/gasoline is about $2.12 (US) in Australia and about $5 (US) in the UK. (Yes, I know 4 liters is about 6 ounces more than a gallon. This is only for aproximate price comparison anyway since prices fluctuate daily.)

In the US, the prices vary by what city and state you are in. I would say the current range is $1.50 to $2 per gallon for regular unleaded in the US.

Australia is really not far from that. The UK is way higher.

From my trips to Canada, the prices in (US dollars) seem to fall into the US price range.

You can thank your local governments taxes fo this as well as for the price of Apple's over seas.
