Here is a guy building an Apple I replica from modern parts. In the end I believe he intends to either sell it or make the plans available to those who want to build one for themselves. There are some issues with Apple legal he would have to overcome, but it's an interesting project.

I don't know how accurate Pirates of Si Valley was, but Woz like handed out schematics of it. Maybe later the Apple I was encompassed with some kind of copyright?

amazing how few chips you have to use now, compared to woz, who was a stickler for using the fewest chips as possible.

Actually I used the source code from the Apple 1 and programmed an EEPROM. http://applefritter.com has everything you could want to know about the original Apple1 including the original manual, schematics and high res pics.
