Possible to use the trackpad for inkwell?

Is it possible to use the trackpad to write with inkwell? Like a giant $2000 palm pilot?😀
has anyone made software that allows this? is it even possible??

I suppose that it would be possible but the resolution wouldnt be that good so I think the uses would be limited. Maybe what Apple need to do is make the whole keyboard a touch screen that projects a keyboard so you can change key layouts and use it as a giant trackpad / handwriting recognition / tablet...

I found out you can trick the "ink" pref pane into not looking for a tablet... but there is no way to tell it to see the trackpad. read: Link

Edit* it appears that the MBP trackpad is USB... so we can bypass the problem they got in the linked post.
