It's often fun just to look at the stuff there.

Yeah, sometimes it can be interesting/amusing to check out whats on offer. I've never bought anything off ebay, though.

I've never bought or sold anything off of eBay, but sometimes I like to just look around and see what is for sale.

I did until I got screwed out of $1122.50. Luckily, since I used PayPal, I was able to get a refund of $2.34 from PayPal. Thank God I did it the safe way!

I looked once for a friend, but due to the wait ended up cancelling the order. Decided to go ahead and purchase it from amazon.com.

eBay is great. I am not doing this for self promotion, but if you want to see a good seller see my ME page at:

http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/adzoox

Safari users, note that ME pages with lots of HTML don't render text tags very well. Still, it all shows up. Page looks great in IE or Netscape.

I don't know whether to be sad that you had to buy a friend for yourself, or amazed that you can get them from amazon.com! ;) :D

Ive bought 2 comps from eBay. I got my PC for sooooooo cheap.

Buying PCs is great on eBay. Buying macs arent. There's a high
demand for macs on eBay. It is cheeper to go for a refurbed one.

I've never seen refurbs that are cheaper than whats going on eBay. Beige G3s are about $150 and usually are $100 more on the refurb sites. There are a lot of good machine going for dirt cheap out there, especially if you are looking to pick up a server or an MP3 machine. 7300/7500/7600/8500 can all be found for under $50 (then again, the shipping on these is usually $30 or so).
It's a great place for parts (got some rubber feet for my G3 for $1).

I've used it since it was about but a baby. Over the years, I've got 741 positive feedbacks (joint account w/my sister). I've never had a problem with it. Just make sure that if you bid on a persons auction, you research them thoroughly and for laptops, e-mail their past auction inners and ask about the seller and always remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it's most likely a CD telling you how to get a pb for free ;)

I've gotten some weird stuff on there, Japanese imports, original posters for Strange Brew, Univac IBM cards and spare parts, etc...and other important items - Oh, an original Transformer 1984 t-shirt and matching socks! Bojah!

God Bless eBay.

I run several eCommerce sites using eBay... one of the most visited sites on the internet; if you want to run a business these days you need to hit that market.
