A few days ago, I tried sudo-, but typed in a password for a standard account. Now Terminal always uses this account for doing sudo- commands, which means I can't do admin level commands. Is it possible to "reset" Terminal, so I can go back to the password prompt when using sudo-, so I can type in the right password? I've tried deleting the preference file, but that didn't work, for I think this type of data isn't stored there.
Thanks in advance for any help.

sudo shouldn't be paying attention to sessions that old 😕

Anyway, try sudo -u root command and see if that does the right thing.

That worked!
Sorry about my basic problems-I'm still pretty much an experimental user of OS X (switched from Windows).
Anyway, Thank you for your help.
