New Phone to Sync With iMac

Until I switched, I was (very sucessfully) using an MS Smartphone (SPVC500) with my Dell Laptop.

Obviously I cant sync the spv with my iMac out of the box and have been scared off using 3rd party apps as there seems a number of problems (mainly with recurring tasks).

Question is then... what phones can people recommend that are compatible with iSync? Dont want a PDA, just a neat phone that shares Address Book and iCal.

Hi. If your like me and got a brand new shiny Mac fresh out of the box, then you must be loving it. It should also have blue tooth wireless already built in. With smart phones its great! I have the Sony Ericsson K750i and it works very, Very well. It Sync’s via blue tooth & yeah its soooo good.
I can access all files, including photos, ring tones, movies & everything easily.
Don’t really know about any other phones, but what the heck, go for the Sony Ericsson K750i

With 10.4.6 iSync has been updated to include more phones. I think the main upgrade has been to Nokia S40 OS based phones.

I'd go for the k750i unless someone else has groundbreaking new info. had a motorola razr v3 worked fine but the interface on the phone is unbearable, albeit faster than the k750i. another great app is bluephone elite which will let you send, receive and most importantly store SMS on your computer (once its full)
when will nokia start thinking about mac users? when will someone produce a phone without unnecessary, clunky & useless cameras (at least the k750i takes *acceptable* photos when light is ok, wind is in your back and you havent got to much pocket dust on the tiny lens)

Just a thought: You could use Mark/Space's "The Missing Sync" to do the job with any PDA. I haven't tried it extensively, but it seems to fit the bill.

I would recommend any Sony-Ericsson phone. I have personally had 0 issues with any of them - syncing to iCal or Address Book - and the interfaces on them are pretty fantastic compared to Motorolas (I haven't had a Nokia phone yet).

A word of warning about the missing sync; it does not yet support Windows Mobile 5 which is a pain in the arse as it is not very clear on their website and I paid for the software!

Again Mark/Space should work with a PDA or Windows Mobile it's available from http://www.markspace.com/ and recommended by Apple so should work well,

I have personally found iSync works really well with my Motorola V500 (though I don't recommend the phone itself and I'll get a replacement as its basically broken, probably a Nokia.)

regarding "The Missing Sync". Does anyone use the windows mobile version?

i would prefer to spend c£40 on the software than £100+ on a new phone if it works well!
