As a response to the GeForce4 ATI announced 2 new versions of the Radeon 8500 featuring 128 MB DDR RAM. All other features should remain unchanged.
Radeon 8500/128 price: 299 $
Radeon 8500 LE/128 : 199 $

Looks like a bargain... or not? Is the GF4 superior?

IŽll like to have that thingy... UT2 will require 128 MB Gfxmem for best opticals!

Hi, this is a little anoying. I am waiting for my new Powermac but am unsure if I should go ahead with it because I could get the new graphics card if I wait! Should I wait?

I checked out ATI's web site... the 128MB Radeon 8500 cards are peecee only. I would like to know when they will announce versions for the Mac. It took approx. 6 months or so for them to make the first batch of Radeon 8500/7500 cards for the Mac. Are we looking at another 6 month wait??

Oh my, I hope not. If nvidia is so eager to cooperate with Apple, weŽll see that ATI may give the Mac version of the Radeon8500 128MB less priority...?

Positive. I was out to buy my new G4 Tower in March or April, since then I have the money ready. But it seems I should wait another 3 Months till MWNY, I have a certain price drop in mind :)
And with the money accumulated IŽll get even more for it!! :D

ItŽs not easy if you want to jump from an iMac DV400 to a G4Tower. I want to shoot and cut movies. So I look for a performance that lasts some time. A DualGig maybe...
