Maybe I should stop singing in the shower.

Maybe I should stop singing in the shower.

Sad to see it happen to what appears to be an innocent person. I guess that these days it is better to be safe than sorry (although, there is a fine line between protecting us from harm and from protecting our civil liberties).

Since when does musical taste even come close to something like racial profiling?

Oh wait, there it is.

Makes you wonder about movies like "V for Vendetta," doesn't it?

i almost got arrested in boston for taking pictures of birds on a pond. the pond happened to be a overflow basin for storm water and someone reported me to the police for terroristic activity.

well, 9 out of 10 ponds in boston are water reservoirs anyway, people fish, bike and run around the pond. the city has maps and pictures of the pond on the internet. i took the pictures on a puplic street with tens of people around biking and running.

that all didn't help. being in the middle of a visa application makes this very scary to me. if this raises a flag with the background check they do for my visa application it's gonna cost me a lot of time and money.

stupid paranoid people.

It doesn't get any more disturbing than this. I'm just waiting for the day someone is detained for reading 1984.

These folks need to start a Thorazine regimen. Maybe put it in the water supplies.

That was a joke, btw.

FIRST THING I THOUGHT AFTER READING THE TITLE!!
I just saw it yesterday... great movie. Who knows.. maybe we'll end up like that someday. The government just wants to have an enemy it can "protect" us from.

Don't panic

So i suppose you'd be ok if you get arrested, publicly humiliated, get some sort of precedent on you rap sheet for terroristic activities and loose a bunch of time and money because you come from Lebanon (http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?u=53379)?
better safe then sorry....

Being from OHIO; this is what was hitting our news station a few days ago.

Blimey... I've got London Calling in my iTunes, too. Worrying. And a quick peak in the rest of my library also reveals The Jam's 'A' Bomb in Wardour Street, Explode by The Cardigans and Happiness Is A Warm Gun by U2. Looks like I could be in BIG trouble

Luckily though, I've also got Killing An Arab by The Cure so hopefully that should demonstrate I'm not an al Qaeda sympathiser...

Whatever happened to common sense? Paranoia does nobody any good other than the charlatans that promote it. I guess that means you're glad to be ruled by them?!?!

Listen, everyone. Listen well.

ALL TERRORISTS listen to classic rock and seminal punk. All of them. Mark my words™. It's what we call pathognomic.

Damn, I listen to the Clash all the time. I guess I'll have to change my musical taste or get discovered. How's Gil Scott-Heron's The Revolution Will Not be Televised (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=2627776&s=143441&i=2627760)? Do you think that will be ok? ;)

Good thing he wasn't listening to DK! (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/d/dead-kennedys/38164.html)

Or The Vandals (http://www.musicsonglyrics.com/V/thevandalslyrics/thevandalsanarchyburgerholdthegovernmentlyrics.html) for that matter.

Warning: Explicit lyrics!

Which is why it isn't better to be safe than sorry. We still aren't even safe (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=190139) either. I'd say it's better to live free than live in fear. Also just saw V. Used to think it was paranoid fantasy. Now I'm not so sure.

That's it, on 06/06/2006 I will play all of my Clash, Exploited (especially the War Now EP), Zepplin, Subhumans, and just about any other classic punk/rock album I have as loud as my stereo will go, off of my balcony.

Should an anti-terrorist unit be deployed I will then over my Mic shout "I AM GODZILLA, YOU ARE JAPAN *credit to Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead*...(funny enough, I live in Denver.)

Let's hope they don't kill me. Because if they do, then I'm definitely going to be pissed.

:p

After they harass and round up enough innocent people in the US, maybe they'll eventually go after Bin Laden.

Listen to it? Hell, if Cat Stevens is any indication, they wrote and sang it!

I think Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld and Rowe should be locked up for high treason, does that make me a "Terrist" ;)
