I went looking. I did. I mean, I'm a reader. But I couldn't find it.

So.....

I read somewhere that booting OS X on a 2.0 MBP takes about 23 seconds. How long does it take to boot up XP?

I am trying to see how much of a "hassle" dual booting really is.

Yeah my iMac takes about 20 seconds or so to boot, very fast. Not too bad at all :D

XPee boots pretty darned fast. I haven't actually timed it.
And yes, I had a guilty feeling all night like I had committed a major sin by booting Windows.

I tried it a few times for the heck of it: using a iMac CD 20" with 1.5G/ram, the boot menu takes about 5-6 seconds. From there, OS X takes 16-18 seconds; XP takes 30-35 seconds - because getting to the XP screen doesn't mean it's ready to do anything useful- :D .

Better confess your sin to Jobs and ask for forgiveness Kingsly! ;) :)

The iMac boots into Mac OS X or Windows XP about the same time, about 20 seconds or less. I have my reasons for installing Windows XP on my Mac, mostly for games and my 3D studio Max class in school. :p

Very fine reasons for installing Windows XP in my opinion. :)

Wow! Those are fast boot times.

I realize we all love our precious seconds, but that seems almost as fast as launching/using some applications!

Looks like this dual booting isn't that much of a hassle: :Oh crap, what am I gonna do for 40 secs?:
