Has anyone seen/tried this?

Is this for real? I couldn't imagine pointing that thing at my own eye and expecting any positive result.
"DON'T BLINK!" I love that! lol!

Considering the image below, taken directly from the site, and noting the quality of the art, the smoke coming from the man's eye, and the comment about "This statement not evaluated by the EPA" in regards to it being painless...I'm gonna have to call BS on this.
Either that, or my expectations for common sense are way higher than they should be.

(I've also just noticed they call it the 'Scal-Pal' laser. Naming a laser after incredibly sharp surgical blades is definitely _not_ a good way to sell something as 'painless'...)

this begs the "big scary laser" image for sure...

From their testimonials page and what they left out...
I wore glasses since I was a kid. I knew I wanted LASIK but it was too expensive! LASIK@Home was affordable and so easy...
- Jerry Datillo, Bartender, New York, NY
Formerly nearsighted -5.00, -4.50 prescription
...so cheap that I should've went to the doctor's office before I blinded myself that easily.
My LASIK@Home kit came in the mail just a few days after I ordered it. I was so excited that I used it that same night! My boyfriend helped me do it. It was all done in an hour and I didn’t feel a thing...
- Jennifer Douma, Attorney, Washington, DC
Formerly nearsighted -3.25, -4.0 prescription
...because all pain receptors were just burned away.
I was worried that LASIK@Home would be too hard, but the instructions were very easy to understand. Now I can stop spending money on contact lenses...
- Nelson Ludo, Systems Analyst, New York, NY
Formerly farsighted +2.5, +3.0 prescription
...because I cannot see at all anymore.

I recognize the white plastic bit on the end, it's a thread counter. I'm pretty sure the main "unit" is a handle from a central vacuum hose.

Yeah, it's definitely a joke. But it's a damn funny one. :D

I thought I'd see how far in the "order" process it let me get lol (see if it was a scam to get CC numbers or anything). The enter your prescription form (which, BTW, is not a valid or complete prescription - just a single (spherical I'd assume they were thinking) refractive power - prescriptions have sphere always and sometimes cylinder (astigmatism), axis (astigmatism), prism (physically misaligned eyes), and add(bifocals)) doesn't work. It tries to post to an HTML document.
So at least they're not trying to ACTUALLY con anyone.

I had laser eye surgery (on a proper hospital), and even with the anesthesia, "painless procedure" is not a very good way of describing it. I can't imagine how much it would hurt to point that thing at your own eye, it'd be hard not to blink

Aside from it being a joke, I love this note on the "painless procedure" comment:
*This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. :D
