I have been thinking about trying out Keynote especially with the good deal for teachers right now, but I am wondering if I will be wasting my money on something I cannot run.
I would really like a new iMac, but money is short right now. My question is what is the lowest powered machine that people have tried running Keynote on with acceptable performance?
I see that the Apple store says a minimum of a 500Mhz G3 or a G4 processor. My iBook would be okay because it is a 600Mhz G3, but I am not sure about my iMac DV because it misses the Mhz requirements by 100Mhz.
I currently run PowerPoint on my iMac DV and it runs like a champ. In fact my iMac DV runs Jaguar and most programs quite well for it's age, except for something like iMovie 3.
Why does Keynote have higher requirements then iMovie and iPhoto? Why is PowerPoint so much easier for a lower speed computer to run? Or is Apple a little high on the requirements. Thank You...all input will be appreciated especially input from people that have ran Keynote on older G3's.
