Has anyone else thought that with all of the references in the main media and in communities to the "Intel iMac" and such, it makes it sound like Intel make the computer now.

C'mon, it's the Apple iMac!!!!! Do you think Apple will call their computers with Intel processors some spiffy name, or just call say the new powermac, the Powermac Pentium 10 or something?

How about: iMac Core Duo? iMac (Early 2006)? Happier Now?

It has been rumored that the new PowerMacs will be called either just plain Macs or MacMacs.

Yea I know what you mean, but I think it IS important for them to emphasize Intel to lure more people to Apple. The less of a leap it seems to go from PC to Apple, the more likely people are to at least LOOK at an Apple computer. Remember, people hate change. Not you necessarily, but people in general, as a public.

I think eventually down the road, say by the end of the year, it'll be back to Imac and Macbook Pro, instead of using the Intel prefix (althought it's less used with the Macbook Pro.

I think it's even more important now that they have boot camp, etc.

I see what you're saying, but the iMac does have Intel's chips in it so it is technically, in a way, partially their's.
