I was sent these pictures from someone. I was told this is the G5. They have taken the shell of the computer off for unknown reasons.

uh, yay.
This is nice of you to post and I know that Apple usually sends out new test machines in old cases or generic PC cases, but these photos don't show a damn thing. Where did you get them? Any other info without tarnishing your sources?
These could be just G4 quicksilver protos too ya know.

i won't flame you but it is my opinion that those are not g5's. true the reported "test boxes" are supposedly shipped in biege cases but this thing has some things that are just rediculous.

1) Floppy drive!!!! i really really don't think so. not even on a test box.
2) it's next to a dog leash, bone and collar. not very responsible of them to keep a state of the art machine on the floor so carelessly.
3) I have a 4 year old pc case next to me right now that looks almost identicle (i use the thing as a pedastal for drives as well as a housing for some drives)
4) the case is opened at the top almost like it doesnt fit well or is broken

bottom line - it looks like some pc user is trying to pull you leg by capturing his suped up PII demon!
I'm not going to comment on the dvd-rw because the picture is a little to degraded to get a decent read out of what is under DVD.

How convenient that that label is so dark you can't read it,eh? Looks almost like an intel inside label that is blacked out. Where did you get these from?

MacAztec

It is not blacked out. That is a shadow. It says

infiniti 4200

Come on guys... someone took a picture of the computer sitting under their desk at home, and called it a G5.

I want a G5 as much as all of you to, but this is just dumb.

if you look really closely at the picture of the "g5" chip, it looks almost like it says intel... ive never seen an intel setup that looks like this, but... it also looks like it says something like, "total impact" on the side... i could be wrong, but i think this is fake as well.

MacAztec

Sorry, we are off. It is NOT a Windoze/PC Chip. Thats what he said. I dont know though. If you can find the intel part, let me se where. The chip does say Total Impact.

ok, i could be on drugs, but I think the text on the top of one of the chips (attached as an image) looks just like the intel logo (also attached).. i think i can see the little dip where the low "e" is... again, i could be hallucinating though. im tired.

As I recall, Apple computers don't have floppy drives? What is that slot-loading drive at the bottom of the computer. Also, the drive says DVD-ROM, not RW.......I think we have a liar on board, or maybe a peecee user....

It's amazing that everyone has given him this much attention, it's not a G5, I think Biggles and arn made that pretty clear, but it really shouldn't have taken that to point it out. Wow, no wonder everyone gets so hyped up over things like phantom release dates of new computers that have been pulled out of absolute nowhere, you'll believe anything, and then debate over it for hours. (sorry, I'm in a bad mood cuz I was just turned down for an internship I'd been waiting for) but this is all kinda silly dont' you think?

Hey now fool. Sounds like you think I took the pictures. I think we have a smart @ss on board. As for floppy drives, no, Apple does not make any. I am sorry to burst you bubble. And, I dont use a damn PeeCee, and if anyone does, why does it matter? Are you going to classify people by their computers? It really shows your type...
