G3 iMac CD Damaged.

Hi Guys,

I aquired some tray-loading G3 iMacs but all the optical drives are damaged. Is there any way of fixing them, or replacing them?

You would have to give us some information. How are they damaged? Are they giving you any particular error message? Do they all have the same type of damage?

If they cannot be fixed, they can always be replaced.

Hi,

They are still detected in the os, but they do not close I think the latch is broken, so I can't determine if there is damage to there lasers or not.

Any suggestions other then replacing? Can these models boot from usb?
