Question on the 12" PB

Anyone knows if the 12" PB works on an external monitor with the lid closed?

I tried it(in the store) without an external keyboard/mouse and the screen on the external monitor just went blank.

Does it require an external keyboard/mouse to be connected before that will work?

It's supposed to, but a USB key has to be there from what I read on an Apple tech doc. Go back to the store and rip off an iMac keyboard to test.

Formac has a new VGA monitor that might look nice with the 12" AlBook. :)

I think it sells/will sell for $699.

if anyone is wondering how to do this, you can do this as well with the old poerbook g4s, simply attach the second monitor, make it the primary display by dragging the finder bar over to the second monitor (in the display settings) then log off, close the powerbook. the second screen will still be on and you can log in and use the second monitor as your primary and only monitor, this saves life on the powerbook screen as well. and make sure to have the keyboard and mouse plugged in. this however does not work for the pismo and others, sorry.
