View Full Version : Display Calibrator Assistant?

On my G4 Powerbook I can tweak the color profile using the Display Calibrator Assistant which works great. When I try to do the same on my Powermac and Cinema Display I get the Color Sync Utility from the display settings when I choose color options.. What gives??

Correction... WHen I click on Calibrate Display from the Color Option menu in system preferences I get a pop up screen that says "Can not calibrate display" it says the factory profile for the display could not be found. Any suggestions?

Are you using fast user switching by any chance? Try pasting this into Terminal:

/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/\
Versions/A/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/Versions/A/Resources/DMProxy

If that doesn't work try restarting.

If you are using fast user switching make sure you log into at least 2 accounts after you restart.

It's a bug that's been with us all through Tiger I believe. I really hope they fix it.

Yes, I am using Fast user switching. I will try your suggestion and report back.

Cool! Thanks Dylan! it worked.. Will it revert back everytime I switch users with fast user switching?
