garageband, need help

ive just installed garageband on my mac but i don't get any sound from the pre-recorded loops. please if someone knows something i don't tell me what i need to do to fix this. thanks in advance

What Mac?
What OS version?
What version of GB?

The pre-recorded loops themselves have a tiny volume slider - is that set at zero?

And what about the main volume slider?

I am assuming that your main Mac volume is on....
