*EDIT* Apparently I was referring to E, the one that had the SuperDrive at the stanard pricepoint. However I would consider a Rev D as well, as long as it had the SuperDrive.

I'm looking to buy a 12" PB G4 with Superdrive, preferably the Rev E, the last one.

I'm looking for one to hold me over until the macbook pros get into revision B, and get all the kinks worked out. I'd like it to have AppleCare or at least be elligible for me to purchase AppleCare still, if it hasn't been done.

Just a feeler to see what's out there.

Well i can go to the Apple Store downtown and get a brand new one with Apple Care for $1700 tax included. So somewhere around 1500 or less, depending on the configuration (ram, hd, etc.)

Amazon is having a rebate on their 12" PB's. Might be worth consideration as well:

Meh, mail in rebates don't usually tickle my fancy, but not bad. I can still walk into the store and get one for 1399 with educational discount.

Thanks though.

Not to confuse the issue, but I'm not sure if the current (last) 12" PowerBooks are considered D or E. I know that the Rev. D PowerBook came standard with a combo and 60 GB hard drive at the 1499 price point, and that when they updated the display resolutions on the higher-end PowerBooks they upgraded that combo/60 to a super/80. Therefore, you MIGHT be looking for a Rev. E.

There are only four revisions of the 12" PB (867, 1.0, 1.33 and 1.5), each with combo and superdrive options. The last "update" was nothing more than a price drop and elimination of the combo drive model. Just wanted to clarify. :)

The Rev E and Rev D 12in superdrive powerbooks are exactly the same. The only thing they did when they made the 15in and 17in rev E is get rid of the combo drive 12 incher.
