Probably extremely useful but still very silly-looking. People would have a field day with me in the office if I had something like that hooked up to my Mac.
Interesting though...

built for those who can't help but look at something _other_ than the huge screen in front of their face.

It's a big piece of cardboard... what's all the fuss about?

Oh, thank God. After years of using electrical tape to mask off all but a small rectangle in each eyeglass lens, just big enough to let me see only the monitor from my typical sitting distance, I can now work normally. The fact that I can now move my head is greatly appreciated.

As you can see from the LaCie website, this design - patent pending, no less - is truly inspired:

I bet the distributors are loving the giant boxes these have to come in now - unless they're folded (likely, I suppose) in which case the end users are loving the seam down the middle.
Nice place to put PostIt notes or, I suppose, tape pics of the 30" ACD. Other than that, a bit of a waste.

Though a bit silly looking I can see how this could be useful, and I'm relieved that a company is thinking about these things. Though I don't see myself ever getting one. The big giant wall behind my monitor already acts in this manner, though I do like the one person's idea of a place for sticky notes even if it does defeat Lacie's purpose.
