GeForce4 MX in New 1Ghz iMac

I just bought one of the 17" 1Ghz iMacs and have been researching information on the GeForce4 MX video card.

I am trying to figure out which edition of the GeForce4 MX is in the 1Ghz iMac.

There are 3 versions I believe, the 420, 440, and 460.

If anyones goes to a Apple Store and could check or can find out, that would be great.

I don't remember where I read it, and thats the plain 440 not the 440se or the 440 with AGP 8x.

It is the MX440 in the current iMacs and the Ti4400 in the PowerMacs. The difference between the 440 and the 460 is not much, but there is quite a bit of different between the 440 and 420. and yes, its the 440MX.

Looks like there is just as much differance between 440 and 460 as there is between 440 and 420

the main difference between the 420 and the 440 is the memory controller, its 64bit on the 420, and 128bit on the 440, giving it twice the bandwith at the same clockspeed. the 460 is just a higher clocked 440.

Unfortunately, I haven't recieved my new iMac yet. It should be here sometime next week. I bought it online from the Apple Store.

Where did you guys find out which type of GeForce4 MX is in the new iMac?

Does any1 know if there is a way to do a TV out on a normal GForceMX (933 Tower) ? Can I buy a VGA -> S Video or RCA output cable? Thanks.

hehe i ordered mine the day it came out.. haven't got it yet. but if you look on the spec page, it does 1.1 billion texels or whatever, and the equivalent to that is the 440MX.

Could you give a link to the page where you see this technical information about the card in the iMac.

I still can only see where it mentions that the GeForce4 MX does over 1 billion texels. I can't find where it actually specifies how many it does.

Silly me for thinkin gtye would put information for the graphics card on the graphics page. ;)
