Trash icon folder destination

Hi. I have two icons that I want to use for my trash can icons. Does anyone know where these are kept in the system folder?

Download the appication "candybar". You can do it with that.

Thanks for the info. I think you have misunderstood my question though! I have two png files. One called trashempty.png and one trashfull.png. Does anyone know where they live? I cant find the location of the original files!

Perhaps you weren't clear then. Your initial post stated:

CandyBar will let you use those 2 icons for your trash can icons, thus answering your question. ;)

Now you are saying you have 2 .png files on your HD but do not know where they are? If so, use Spotlight to find them. Just do a simple file search and Spotlight will tell you the exact directory where those files are located. Piece of cake. :cool:

If you have candybar there are originals located in user >> library >> application support >> candybar

I'm not a fan of candybar. I won't pay money for something I can do in a matter of seconds and for free.

The location of the two trash pngs are in:
cd /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources

OK, I have made a balls of this question havn't I!

A 'friend' of mine swapped the original Apple trash icons for some 'funky' icons which I cant stand. They have put the Apple icons on my desktop but cant remember where the new icons are, or what they are called. Can someone do a search for trashfull.png and tell me the location.

I know what you mean, however not all the icons are easy for the average user to change on his own. And in this specific instance, since the OP indicated he only wants to change his Trash folder icons, I recommended CandyBar since it allows you to make several free changes without having to pay anything whatsoever. :cool:
