View Full Version : .bin files - thought macs read these

I installed a fresh copy of OS9

then insterted the CD i made with the updates to 9.2.2....however the files are bin files....

I used this same disk to update before....but now its tellin gme that the program used to create the files is missing, and cannot read them...now what?

you need stuffit expander, it's a free download ... just search version tracker for the OS 9 version

Hmm... I thought Disk Copy would take care of those bin files... :confused:

Maybe you need Stuffit (http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/) (which I though came with a OS 9 install) - remember to get version 7 as later versions are for OS X only (edit: just like revenuee said... I'm just too slow ;)).

...everyversion of stuffit i find....is a .bin file....or a .sea file

i cant find anything to install it....=[

.sea = self-extracting archive

Use that, it'll extract itself if you "run" the archive (since it's really an application with an archive inside of it) so you can install it.

i tried that file too....no go.
