Not much info on the Web page, but here's the critical info from the readme:

● Program Use
This tool enables the so called "Safe Sleep" mode on most G4 PowerBooks and G4 iBooks. If you close the lid, Safe Sleep safes the actual state of your mobile Mac into a file on harddrive. Even if you disconnect the power supply and remove the internal battery, it will preserve the memorys contents. After getting back on power, your mobile Mac will be right back where it was.

● System Requirements
- Apple Powerbook G4 (aluminum) or iBook G4 computer
- Mac-OS X 10.4.x (Tiger)
PatchSleep does not run in the "Classic“ environment, nor does it work on 10.3 (Panther), 10.2 (Jaguar) or 10.1

As far as I remember it works on anything. I hope it knows the difference between encrypted and unencrypted swap... (failing to use the correct command means bad things...)
