it's true, plugging a guitar into a computer is nothing new. why was this never released, anyway?

The judge doesn't sound very nice. He/She doesn't have to agree, but He/She doesn't have to be rude either.

mmmm... submissions :) I like submitting stories!

I am also curious as to why, now the cat is MAJORLY out of the bag, Apple haven't just gone ahead and released this.

I can see their mentality though - it's like "you've ruined it now" - discouraging future rumours etc.

I think they'd have done well to release this about 18 months ago, when GarageBand 2 was coming out... now I wonder if the market will be there?

And with the general ridicule of the apple speaker, they probably don't want to release another gadget that flops.

I cant see apple releasing anything that hasn't already been in music stores for years...

we're just talking about an external sound card with a preamp, right?

personally i'd stick with maudio on this one

I agree with Apple. If you work for Apple, you have to sign a confidentiality agreement protecting new products from public discussion/i.e. dissemination, correct? This is commercial/intellectual property, worth millions of dollars.

So, how did the imformation get leaked? I'd like to know, too, since there are so many third party as well as second COUNTRY counterfeiters out there like China, ready wiilling and able to grab the information and scoop Apple at their own, legitimate business.

I agree with Apple -- free speech rights DO NOT trump property rights.

But don't forget, in places like China, there ARE NO property rights!

They are still commies! There is no private property! That's why Bill Gates/Google/Yahoo's alliances with China are sickening. Plus they're actively committing industrual warfare against their sworn enemy, the US, with their counterfeiting industries with concentration camp laborers. It sickens me that ipods/ibooks and pbs are made in China -- ripe for counterfeiting all the parts. Just like how they counterfeit hondas and MBenz cars... they have no respect for intellectual or commercial rights. Why we do business with them, is our own exaggerated sense of ego and our own greed at their potential consumer base... a base the Party elites in China will never let free markets get at as long as they are in power. It is a carrot on a stick and theywill continually pull it out from under any Western country... they are not dumb.
