Use these shortcuts to select items in the Spotlight menu.
...
Display an item in the Finder: Command-click it

THANK YOU!

I use command-click on Dock icons all the time. Why did I never think to try it in the Spotlight dropdown?

I will use this daily. More often than not, when I do a search, what I really want IS the enclosing project folder, not any one file that's within it. But the files are what come up, so I open the Spotlight window and Command-R one of the files. Waste of time. I won't be doing that anymore!

Some of the other shortcuts are nice too, like command-Return for Top Hit. That will make launching apps from Spotlight a bit quicker.

If you want to talk about launching apps with something lightnight fast, spotlight isn't it. Try Quicksilver, a launcher on steroids. I don't even use my dock anymore. Quicksilver link (http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Utilities/Quicksilver.shtml)
