I have two Mac's in the house and had file and printer sharing working fine when both were wired to the router. I moved one of the boxes upstairs so now it's wireless (802.11g w/ WEP security/password). Now I can't get to my other Mac's shared folders or printer. I can ping it, however.

Can someone please educate this wireless noob? 😱

Can the wirelss computer use the router? (can it go out on the internet, for example)

If so, the problem is not with the router. Check the firewall and system prefs on both computers and make sure you've got file sharing on.

Is the printer separate from the wired computer?

FWIW, most third party routers don't pass Appletalk through the Wireless connections, so you have to go IP only. This creates a minor problem for older printers and pre-OSX machines.
