PB 17 could be here by Friday!!!

I called my reseller this arvo, and he said my PB17 might be here by Friday! (Sydney).

Has anyone else been told they could arrive this week???

you're doing better than me!! I haven't even seen a 12" PB here in Sydney - I keep emailing my mate who works at an apple store near my work, and he says they keep putting off the delivery date

My PB was originally due at the end of Feb, and as I posted in an earlier thread, my baby (the human variety) is due on 1st March. I was wondering which would make the first appearance...

Last night my wife started having contractions!!! Now they're every 5min or so, and hopefully we'll be off to the hospital in a few hours and wake up tomorrow (perhaps quite late tomorrow), with a baby! :p

This will definitely make waiting for my PB much easier, even if it's not Friday after all.

I'm new to this forum, the reason that I actually start reading mac-forum is that I have ordered the 17'' powerbook

Anyways, to answer your question. Yes, my supplier keeps telling me that my baby will come this week. But to be honest, I'd rather guess next week.

After a long struggle, my brand new daughter Chloe beats the Powerbook 17. Born just three hours ago, she was victorious in the battle of the "due-dates" (hers being the 1st of March and all).

when did u guys order them? i talked to an apple guy today and he told me that if i ordered a 17 inch that it would most likely arrive before or on march 1st. however the apple site says 6-8 weeks from now. also i would like to try it out first so if i waited until march 1st (when my apple store is sopposedly getting theirs) then placed my order do u think i would have to wait over a week or just a couple days?

Hi everybody.

I've called the store again, they looked up the delivery date for the 17 inchers. They say like this: "We hope we can deliver the pbs until 28-th of the 2-nd.

That makes a couple more weeks of awaiting :mad:

P.S. I also discovered that non-english versions of OS usually take 2 weeks more than the english one. Something to think about if you ordered non-english software

It's no big deal but then ummm i did things to it that you probably would not like at all.
And then i installed lots and lots of apps on it so now i'm trying to figure out how to let my friends use it without Apple killing me [for violating my NDA]. :rolleyes:

I just called the reseller who has my order and the latest update from Apple Australia has now been changed to early March.

Bother.

Oh, well - least I've got another beautiful baby to play with. Here's another proud pic of my little Chloe, now two and a half days old. The picture was taken when she was just starting to open her eyes.

I'm waiting to be told that this is not a parenting website and that I'm not to put any more pictures of my daughter up, but I just thought some of you might like to see her again! :) :) :)
