Yeah, I second that. I know Apple's forcing these sites to change their name, but when ipodlounge.com changed, at least it was something similar. I mean, what the hell is a Prong?

apple needs to take a chill... it's sites like these that were the grassroots and guerilla level stuff that helped make the ipod a household name.

"The iPod will still represent one prong in our coverage, iTunes will represent another prong, and there will be more prongs to come. All of those prongs will be directly related to the iPod universe in some way. But now that it's clear that the future of multimedia will be a multi-pronged one, we think our new name is rather appropriate: iProng™."

Yeah, sorry I should have been more clear. I understand their logic, but it's nowhere near related to their old name. A prong could be anything. It's like renaming themselves iStrategy or iMarketDirection. We all know the joke that if you put a lowercase "i" in front of anything and it become ubiquitous with the iPod (and sometimes just apple), but this is a well established site sort of turning themselves into a joke. Don't get me wrong, I love iProng (or ipodgarage.com) and ilounge.com (formerly know as ipodlounge.com) and I think they are great resources, but it upsets me that they are going to kill their branding by completely changing their name to something that most people won't associate with the old name and what they do.

I will still visit iProng for great reviews and stuff, but it's going to be more difficult telling friends about the site knowing that I'll have to explain to them why a "Prong" and what a "Prong" has to do with an iPod.

Wonder why Bill Palmer had to post an elaborate story (lie) ... it's obvious Apple legal made him do this.

How can anyone take this guy seriously from this point forward?

First he claims that LoadPod was the Pioneer in CD to iPod conversion, then claims that FOX NEWS and NBC NEWS have given him accolades for Load Pod.

Now he claims this change is to reflect evolution of the iPod (no mention of a word from Apple legal)
