Hi,
I am trying to send an mp3 from my mac to my Razr. And it sends ok, but when I go to listen to the file, I get a message saying "system error". These are the steps I am taking:
1. import a song into garageband,
2. cut the part of the song i want
3. send the song to iTunes
4. convert it to mp3
5. send it to my Razr using the bluetooth file exchange
Can anybody help me? Or does anybody have any other ways of doing this? I would really appreciate it because I have been trying it for a few days and it is really bugging me.
thanks

nevermind, I figured it out. I just needed to lower the bit rate of the mp3 I was sending.:)

Good to hear you figured it out...
But, you know you can cut up a track in iTunes too.
I just pick my track, get info, change the stop and start times in the "options" part of get info, usually I set it to start at 0:00 and end at around 0:45. advanced>convert to MP3, and I got a new track set to 45 seconds, perfect for a ringtone.

No, Advanced -> Convert to xxx makes a second copy of the song, without deleting the original.
This is a really good tip, Quig. Thanks! :)

Anyone know how to do this with just a USB cable? I can get it to sync, but I can't file transfer.

You know, i think only OBEX/OPP over bluetooth works for file transfers like such. USB doesn't seem to work with anything but iSyncing contacts and calendars.
You could try to maybe mail it to your phone or something, I don't know.

Ehh, I'll just stop being cheap and buy a dongle. I want to anyway.
