hello macmen and women,

i have a little problem. im pretty new to mac and my pm g4 just wont boot.
it stays on the apple loading screen and wont go any further. i tried the restore disk and i can boot from the dvd drive. 1 way i tried to get it to work was: starting it up again, after the "bong" i held on o, f, apple command, and alt. i restet preferences and i did the other thing it told me to do. another way i tried to get it to work was by: starting it up again...holding on alt and s key until it brought me up to the screen were i can modify the files( the Black and White screen.) there were no files needed for repair so i stopped that. are you following me? well how do i get it to work?:)

cross-reference: gunna get the boot (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=196268)

Did you try resetting the PRAM? Cmd-Option-P-R on startup until you hear a second chime.

Let's see ...

- Holding Option (Alt) at boot: do you see the hard drive on there?

- Booting from the CD (holding C at boot), and running Disk Utility from there: did anything need fixing?

- Archive and install OS X? (might be a bit much, only do this after you tried everything else that has been suggested)
