I think if you mess around with ownership and permissions, you can get it to work though. This is because I can see how much space is left on different volumes, and removable drives.

Someone on this forum just convinced me to ditch AIM and get Adium. Long story short, it was worth it. I lightened a 360 wallpaper from 360style.net in order to be able to read text better while sending messages. :)

Yeah Externals, its a permission thingy alright. You have full rights to it. If you take away the r right to the root of the HDD you probably can't see the free space... hmm... let me try that, brb.

For the design and photography icons, I used CHUMS (http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/index.php?sort=downloads&id=&page=2) icon set.

The Powermac came from a different set. It's been so long I can't remember the name. There's a similar icon in the CHUMS set, but I don't think it's as good.

If you want to know how to change your icons, interfacelift has a nice tutorial (http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/faq.php#1) up.

Yes, it's Shapeshifter, a theme called Shinobi (http://interfacelift.com/themes-mac/details.php?id=22), along with a few tweaks in Transparent Dock to tone the lightness down a bit. The iTunes skin comes along with the theme and is applied automatically. BTW, the hard drive icons are a separate package called Minium (http://www.rad-e8.com/downloads/icn/minium/). :)

Nahh. Just capture the screenshot to the clipboard (apple-shift-ctrl-3 for full screen), then open preview, hit apple-n to paste from the clipboard, and then file-save as, and choose jpeg, and the quality you want. Alternatively download Tinkertool, to change the default (apple-shift-3) screenshot from png to jpeg, and its all done for you. :)

Pretty simple really...click on the icon you wanna use -> press command+c to copy it to the clipboard -> right click the icon you wanna replace and "get info" -> click on the top left icon, a blue halo will show up around the icon -> press command+v to paste.

if thats not enough for ya, check out Candybar (http://iconfactory.com/cb_home.asp)

I think it might be a widget he 'stuck' to the desktop (or however apple titles placing a widget) as I don't see an icon in his dock for a CPU monitor.

It is sweet looking. Makes me even more envious. :p

Yes. In terms of my dock I like to keep it clean and simple - only Finder and the two programs that remain open almost all day. Other apps are open/closed via Quicksilver...

It's included with the CHUD tools on the XCode install. If you have an Intel mac it is on your install disk. Just install XCode and select CHUD tools from the menu and it will place a preference pane for the processor controls, along with that nice graph.
