Can anyone explain to me for what possible reason Quicktime Pro would not allow users to export audio in MP3 format?

.WAV -- no problem.
.AIFF -- fine
Other compression codecs -- sure
MP3 -- I guess they're saying "Who would want that??"

Not to mention the fact that Apple's own Quicktime web page doesn't list Safari as a supported browser.

Take a look
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qt/specifications.html

But once again -- Steve, tell me, if I'm willing to PAY for Quicktime Pro, WHY CAN'T I SAVE AUDIO AS MP3???

Anyone......?

There are many other applications that will allow you to export audio soundtrack as MP3.
Apple doesn't want to do it.. I guess they have some reason..

Howard, it does have full screen video. In the $30 Pro version. And there are third party programs like Simple Image that give it fullscreen video too for free.
