Splitting audio file into pieces.

I have an old recording of a Vinyl which I want to burn onto CD, however, the file is one large .aiff file, and so I can't select each track. Can someone recommend a program which i can use to split each track?

MP3 Trimmer is great. It lets you trim both MP3s, WAVs and AIFFs I believe. They should have it on versiontracker.com.

Oh, come on, what is wrong with Audacity? 🙂 I actually prefer it over Garageband, much simpler to use, but of course everybody is different.

How did you create your aiff file? If it is created at 48kHz sampling rate (e.g. GarageBand), Audacity gets confused, crashes. Try converting your file to aiff again with iTunes, then it gets recoded with 44.1kHz sampling rate and Audacity should then work.
 
There's an Awesome program that will edit your one long Aiff track into individual tracks, you can cut them up, name em, set the eq, and add the original vinyl artwork.

it's called iTunes. 😀
