I'm just about to return my macbook pro, can't be bothered to deal with all the issues with it like heat, whine, etc. I think i will wait until memrom & rev B before i put all of my eggs in one basket as it where, If i keep the macbook i will have £1,849.00 worth of yonah whereas if i get the mini just for the time being it will only be £599 worth of yonah.

I know there will always be technology just round the corner but memron seems to be quite a large step.

Now what to replace it for the time being? I don't really need a portable so its the iMac or the mini. I personally hate the look of the iMac, i would much prefer the mini with a nice cinema monitor but the for the same price i can get a specced up iMac. However if i get the 20" cinema i can get one of the intel powermacs when they come out instead of a rev b macbook pro.

please advise im lost, i just want your opinion 😀

Do you need Intel? Do you need a 20" montor? You could get a G4 Mini and a smaller monitor for a lot less, giving you even more money to spend when the computer you really want is released.

hmm, never really thought of that. maybe a secondhand powerbook 1ghz

I was just thinking that since you were planning on upgrading in the relatively near future anyway it might be in your best interest to get something a bit older to save some coinage. I guess you could still get the 20" monitor if you planned on using it with a different computer later, but the price difference between a good 20" and a good 17" can be significant.
