Left or right?

PlaceofDis
May 3, 2006, 02:46 PM
right. blue is to much easier on the eyes.

yellow
May 3, 2006, 02:46 PM
I like the color blue better...

But the ocher might "pop" more, as it's a less common color than boring old blue.

One complaint, the "three sixty" in ocher is sort of hard to see at a glance.. might want to darken that up a little?

EDIT: I guess that means I really vote for orange.

WildCowboy

Definitely the blue one...but I'm a big fan of blue.

PlaceofDis
May 3, 2006, 02:48 PM
blue may blend in too much, wonder what a deeper blue or a light red would look like? the yellow color just doesn't do anything for me. heh:o

The bottom text needs to be larger, IMO.

Right - blue.

I prefer the yellow, but in light of the name (Spa Creek) I wonder if blue would be more appropriate?

kretzy
May 3, 2006, 02:52 PM
I'm usually a blue person, but so some reason I don't particularly like that shade. Therefore I say yellow/orange/ocher one.

i'd like the yellow if it didn't strain to see. perhaps a black outline on the arrows or such? when i get home if you haven't decided, i'll see what i can mock-up for you with what i have there, i'm useless at work.

I like the yellow/orange better. And it doesn't hurt that yellow is much more eye-catching, either. :)

Blue Velvet
May 3, 2006, 04:27 PM
Blue... but probably only because it'll print/convert better to mono, i.e. a laser printer or photocopier.

I won't get drawn into the design or type.

I think I'm going to have to go with the Left (orange/yellow whatever). I generally like blue better, but something about the blue that you've used, kind of makes it look like a cheesy 90s expansion team jersey logo.
Meh? Whatever

When I first glanced at the orange one, "nipple" popped into my head. I still like it though (oddly). Blue is nice, but blue is a very common colour in design, since it's so nice.

I thought nipple too on both of them, but thought I was just a perv. :o :p

May 3, 2006, 05:05 PM
Can I get it in hot pink, please? There's really shockingly little that isn't better in the pink-hot-pink-magenta continuum of colors. :)

Otherwise, I too like the blue. I think the left is okay, but I'm not a fan of the ghosted arrow -- I like the two arrows at roughly the same intensity, as on right.

The blue one seems best but PlaceofDis had a good idea of maybe a deeper blue or even a light purple :o The design is nice Gary hope it works well for you :)

I think I prefer the yellow as it is more original.
However the bottom left arrow looks a bit 'dirty'.

I'd go yellow, even though I normally like blue. Yellow looks more punchy and grabs my attention more. Blue is subdued, in this case I feel.

Colourwise, I'll go with the blue.

Maxiseller
May 3, 2006, 08:02 PM
I'm in the yellow camp - if for no other reason than it looks the most original.

I also like the blurring on the top arrow in the yellow - gives the nice effect of the circular motion.

iBlue

What about these two (compared to each other and the ones above):

the one on the right. on the left one the blue border just sort of stops, and it threw me. otherwise i sort of liked the white. (aren't i helpful?)

for the first set i prefer the blue. spa and creek sort of speak tones of blue just by association - seems more cohesive.

i like the designs though very much. go you! :)

Of the original...I like the left, but I think the background is pretty important too. Is it going to be as white as the post screens here?

Of the second, I like the right.

Of the cards, I like the right. If you go that route you might want to use a textured material to bring out the yellow hues.

BTW, what does BoatBiew mean? Is this intentional, and something I'm just not familiar with, or a typo?

I like the yellow and grey combination. I always find grey makes things look a little more professional for some reason, even if it is a bit duller. The dullness doesn't matter though because the yellow makes it stand out.

iGary,
Not to be a nitpicker (all though I admit it's a pastime), you misspelled 'cubic' as 'cuibic' on your QTVR page on the website. Just a heads-up.

Cheers

Edit: ooh, and don't forget to update your equipment list with your shiny new Quad :)

BurtonCCC

If it's not going to be more simplistic, I'd say go with the yellow and grey.

I don't think people really want simplicity anymore anyway. Look at the iPod ads now versus those a year ago. What a shame.

Actually, go with the yellow and grey no matter what.

Daniel.

Maybe you should give these folks a call, to see if they're looking to sell :)

I dig the BoatView™ concept. We've got a lot of big yachts down here in SW Florida. I could use another source of income for my 360° biz - real estate is slowing down a bit... I may have to hit the pavement and shake hands with some boaters :D Maybe I should read up a bit so I can speak the language eh?

I honestly think it will do really well - I mean the only ads you ever see of boats are the outside, and no inside shots - at a minimum a flat pano would be great - especially for expensive new boats.

I'm drawing up a specific "leave behind piece" just for boat brokers and I hope to get at least one big brokerage signed up on a "freebie" trial to see how they like it first, and hope to drag others on board after.

We'll see!

I guess I thought of it because it's what I know - you know real estate, which I have no clue about. I wanted to try something where I have contacts and know the lingo. Same deal with you - you have real estate contacts - I don't.

And yeah, plenty of good brokerages there - at least I noticed a lot form the air last time I shot there.

Cheers. And thanks for the help!

You know what's really cool too? This (http://www.gravityshots.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=HeliCam) company does aerial shots of real estate from an angle that's hard to get to from an aircraft - they use a RC helicopter and mount the camera on it!

They have some great shots in their portfolio. It allows them to get lower than an plane/copter but higher than the ground. :)

:o

Not necessarily. Especially with logos, it's good to show them to someone who has no idea of the project (who would see it the way a client would see it) and check that there isn't something hidden in there that you haven't noticed. When you're designing something you see what it's meant to be, say two joined circles, whereas someone else might see a huge arse. If one of your clients also sees a huge arse, that ain't good. :D Hence, it's always useful to show your work to someone else and see what they get out of it.

Frack, frack, frack .... now that you said that, the blue thing reminds me of a sewage outlet, and the grey circle with the arrows around it reminds me of a manhole cover.

I don't think I would've made that association without the sewage outlet comment, so I think the design is safe. :)
