I have ordered a external 300gb drive. What I am going to do is partition it into 3 sections one for each computer. Then use CCC and clone each computer to there partition. Will this be bootable by any of the computers? Or would i have to bless each system? Do you guys suggest CCC or some other program?

Each partition should be bootable by any Mac (assuming they are all the same architecture), but I wouldn't guarantee it.

I use Carbon Copy Cloner. SuperDuper is pretty good, but I like CCC a little better. MR is pretty split on the two. Check them both out and use the one that fits you best.

i use superduper and i can thoroughly reccomend it, its just so simple to use. I have heard good things about CCC though, but can't comment as i have never used it
