mad jew Moderator emeritus May 10, 2006 #4 I find Firewire to be more efficient if I'm also transferring music, but otherwise I don't really notice a difference. Of course, newer iPods can use Firewire only for charging (no transferring) so I guess it's a moot point for them anyway. 🙂

TEG macrumors 604 May 10, 2006 #6 Firewire charges iPods faster because it is 12V. USB is limited to 5V. They both carry the same Amperes so the total capacity is higher with Firewire. TEG
